Terms & Conditions
The terms & conditions set out below apply to the supply of goods or services from Generators Direct to you the customer, and by ordering, you agree to be bound by them.
No part of these terms & conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
When you place an order, it will be treated as an offer by you to purchase. Generators Direct reserve the right to accept or not accept any order at our discretion. Dispatch of your goods will signify our acceptance of your order and will constitute a legally binding contract between us the seller and you the purchaser under these terms & conditions.
All Prices shown on the website include vat at the standard rate and delivery for the UK mainland except for those remote areas stated in the ordering section of the contact page.
Please note all payments are processed through PayPal/ Secure Trading. We do not hold any customer financial information.
For any orders with a different billing and delivery address we may require payment via BACS/BANK TRANSFER. For enquires please contact us on 01639 849847.
Please note an access and service charge will be made when contacting the 0845 numbers. Access charges vary depending on your provider and a service charge from 1p to 7p per minute will be charged in addition to what your provider will charge you. A full vat receipt will be emailed to you at the time of dispatch. You may pay for your order by cheque, however we cannot dispatch any goods until cleared funds arrive in our bank account, therefore an extended delivery time must be anticipated.
Generators-Direct.co.uk understands that a quick efficient delivery is expected by all of our customers and most goods are dispatched on a Next working day service (Stock Dependant). All Generators-direct.co.uk generators undertake a Pre Delivery Inspection on occasions some large generators will not be able to be dispatched on a next day service so that a thorough Pre Delivery Inspection can take place.
If you have ordered an item which is unlikely to be with you within 7 working days you will be informed either by telephone or email within 24hrs of placing the order.
Please note our free delivery service applies to Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. Free delivery is not available in the Scottish highlands, Islands or N Ireland and Republic of Ireland there is an extra charge for these areas. (Please see contact us page for details). Before noon deliveries or before 10.30am deliveries are available. However we have to make an extra charge for these premium services which will vary depending on the product purchased. Please contact our sales team on 01639 849847 for more details.
When your goods arrive Generators Direct advise that you check that the items are in good condition and the quantity of items received corresponds to the quantity you are signing for. Although you are not legally required to do so and it doesn’t affect your statutory rights. The risk in goods does not pass to the consumer until they have had reasonable time to inspect them. In the unlikely event that your goods have been damaged in transit, if possible refuse the delivery and contact our sales team immediately in order that we may dispatch a replacement quickly and minimise your inconvenience.
Please inform us as soon as possible of any shortages so that we may take the matter up with our couriers and trace the missing items.
Generators Direct will not be held liable for any consequential losses; damages or expenses incurred by you the purchaser or any third party arising directly or indirectly out of late or non-delivery of your order or part thereof.
Title and risk in the goods shall pass to you the purchaser once you have had reasonable time to inspect the goods.
If for whatever reason you wish to return an item, you must inform us in writing or by email within 14 working days of receipt of goods your intention to return the goods (The 14 day cooling off period starts the day after receipt of the goods and excludes weekends and bank holidays). Generators Direct requests goods are returned undamaged and in a saleable condition (Unused, original packaging and all accessories) within 14 days of notice to return. Items that are not received in a saleable condition will not be refunded in full. All cost associated with an unwanted item are to be paid by the customer. We cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged returns so please ensure the goods are insured. If any goods are damaged in transit you will have to pursue a claim with the courier.
The purchaser will be responsible for return carriage when goods are not faulty, if the customer does not return the goods to Generators Direct, collection will be arranged at the purchasers cost. The buyer is obliged to take reasonable care ensuring that the goods are returned to Generators Direct are returned in good condition and not damaged in transit.
Generators Direct will refund all customers within 30 days from date of cancellation. You may cancel your order at any time prior to dispatch by phone or email quoting your order no. If the goods have been dispatched then the customer is responsible for the cost of the return of the goods, unless otherwise agreed.
All our products are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty covering faulty materials and faulty workmanship but do not cover general wear and tear. Generators-direct is a reseller of Generators and not the manufacturer therefore all warranties are subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions. In general warranties are 3 month’s or up to 1000 hours whichever comes first. Included in the warranty is parts and labour to fix Generators not to replace or refund.
If an item develops a fault after the 28 day cooling off period then your item will be covered by our 3 month warranty( Unless otherwise stated ).We would require the item to be sent back to ourselves or the manufacturer for a warranty repair. We will not under any circumstances offer a full refund after the cooling off period. If your item develops a fault and your warranty has expired we will do our best to arrange a repair for you if we can (subject to parts being available) but this is not guaranteed and will be chargeable to you the customer.
All manufacturer’s warranties apply to items that are purchased and used within the United Kingdom (UK). Any item exported outside of the UK for any purpose or length of time would be subject to a void warranty. It may be possible to supply parts for exported items, however these would be subject to UK delivery only.
We will not be held liable for any consequential losses; damages or expenses incurred by you the purchaser or any third party arising directly or indirectly from any product.
Generators-Direct will assist you in dealing with a warranty claim however we are not responsible for any product directly.
